Andhra Bandh : Normal life was paralyzed across Andhra Pradesh on Friday due to a day-long shutdown called over demands for a special category status to the state. Being the last budget presented by the BJP government, the TDP government has no hope that it will show any mercy to financially aid AP.
The ruling Telugu Desdam Party (TDP), Congress, Left parties and mass organisations backed the shutdown called by Pratyeka Hoda Sadhana Samithi (PHSS), which is fighting for special status to the state. TDP MLAs along with AP CM Chandrababu Naidu have worn black shirts to the assembly on Friday.Buses of Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) went off the roads, while shops, business establishments and educational institutions remained closed. Vizag Railway zone, financial backing to backward district of Uttarandhra, support for the construction of new capital are few demands.
