Senior actor Mohan Babu and his son Manchu Vishnu coming this Friday with an intense crime drama Gayatri. The movie has positive vibes for its emotional content and thought-provoking dialogues. Let’s get into analysis and review.

Star Cast: Dr.M Mohanbabu, Vishnu Manchu, Shriya Saran, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Nikhila Vimal, Brahmanandam, Posani Krishna Murali, Prudhvi, Satyam Rajesh, Jiiva

Story, Dialogues: Diamond Ratnababu

Director : Madan Ramigani

Music: SS.Thaman

DOP: Sarvesh Murari

Art: Chinna

Editor: MR Varma

Story: Dasari Sivaji (Mohan Babu) a stage artiste, also a good Samaritan who does social service through Sarada Sadan.Once he saves a lady(Nikhila Vimal), who happens to be his daughter and realizes she hates him.

Why Sivaji been hated by his daughter? Whats his flashback holds? Who is Gayatri Patel? Whats in store between Sivaji and Gayatri Patel to be seen on screen.

Analysis: Gayatri has a story, but old style narration puts the movie back in the race. one who has seen Mohan Babu’s old movies like Soggadi Pellam, Rowdy Gari Pellam can see the same kind of story and same old style direction in Gayatri too.

A Hero with a good heart but with a bad image, friend’s backstabbing, emotional relation with wife, loosing her in time ,having a daughter who has a negative opinion on him…all these were same old ingredients our filmmakers used in 1990’s.Gayatri can join those list of movies.

The Second half has a promising story and different Mohan Babu as antagonist Gayatri Patel.Mohan Babu looked good in both roles as Sivaji and Gayatri.

Manchu Vishnu as young Sivaji did justice to his role as a tempered stage artiste.Shriya, plays role of Sarada, love interest and wife of Sivaji seen limited.

Anasuya as TV journalist was ok, not a much important role.Nikhila Vimal was ok too.Prudhvi, Posani, Brahmanandam did their bit.

Thaman’s music had spark in “Oka Nuvvu.,Oka Nenu” song. His BGM was good in Gaytri Patel scenes.

Diamond Ratnababu dialogues points at AP CM and other political issues in telugu states.Mohan Babu minted few realistic dialogues like “Naaku voteyyani vaallu Nenu ichina pensions teesukovadhu , nenu vesina roads meeda tiragodhu antaadu okadu”.Few other dialogues were witty n emotional.

Madan Ramigani direction was completely gone in an old-school format.A crisp and trendy execution would have delivered a hit like “Prasthanam”, but Gayatri lacks that magic dealing completely.

On a final note, Gayatri remains as an average fare. One can opt for its content in second half.

Bottomline: Can be another ‘Prasthanam’, but bad treatment puls it back!
