Adelaide test’s first day ended with a little relief to India. The guests won the toss and opted to bat first. As the first innings progress, India started losing focus as well wickets. By lunch, they posted 88-5, which seems like a perfect sink.
But Pujara’s patient century against all odds made India to post 250-9 by end of the first-day play. His 123 runs in 246 balls were well supported by Rishab Path, Rohit Sharma and Ashwin. Remaining batsmen including Kohli limited themselves to single digits.
Shami and Bumrah remained on the crease by end of the play. Aussies bowlers showed a collective effort by picking 2 wickets each. Starc, Hazelwood, Pat Cummins, and Nathon Lyon contributed to it.
So, tomorrow going to be India’s bowing show. The test result depends on how well they can restrict Aussies batsmen.
